MRAC improves arts access for communities in the 7-county metropolitan area through support to artists and organizations. We believe this can be accomplished with a deliberate and authentic effort to have more diversity, to practice inclusivity, and to work towards building more equitable systems.
At the June 2018 board meeting, MRAC’s board of directors adopted three documents that will direct MRAC’s own work internally and will guide the work with applicant groups to help advance racial equity in our region. The three documents are available here:
Racial Equity Statement Glossary
This document is a work-in-progress and will be added to a living dictionary of words that are important in understanding and advancing MRAC’s Racial Equity work.
These documents are not the end of the journey, but a declaration of MRAC’s commitment to advancing racial equity in the Twin Cities metro region.
