Current grant programs: Arts Impact for Groups
651-523-6380
As a Program Director, Mirella, leads Arts Impact for Groups and supports all other grant programs. She is available for any arts funding questions, can check for eligibility for a specific program, and provides grant program webinars and panel orientations. In addition, Mirella speaks Spanish and leads Latinx community engagement efforts by connecting one-on-one with artists and also partnering with community organizations to share more information about MRAC.

Formally, Mirella was a grant-writer for Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES), a holistic, intergenerational, culturally-specific nonprofit. During this time and as a panelist reviewer for the MN State Arts Board and the MN Humanities Center, she saw the continually low application and funding rate for Latinx artists and groups. There are clearly several and often intersecting barriers within grant-writing, and thus, why she welcomes all questions and seeks to connect with artists and groups to humanize this whole process here at MRAC; while also developing processes and community events to make MRAC more welcoming for all.

Mirella enjoys being outside during Minnesota’s warm sunny summer days, and then takes dance classes, travels, reads and goes to arts events throughout the metro–all of which make winter tolerable.
