Rodney Marsalis and the Minnesota Sinfonia – Amazing!

Rodney Marsalis again joins the Sinfonia, this time performing Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha, Harry James’ Concerto for Trumpet and other delightful selections. Recognized as “one of the top classical trumpet soloists in the world”, Rodney Marsalis is admired for his evocative interpretation, impeccable virtuosity and beauty of sound. Also on the program are Benjamin Britten’s Sentimental Saraband, Niels Gow’s Scottish Lament and Johann Nepomuk Hummell’s Trumpet Concerto in E, movement III. Following an intermission, the program will conclude with Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 1, composed in 1813 at the age of 16.
