Kairos Alive! Dancing Heart™ Live
Thursday, December 2, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 11:15 am
Dancing Heart Live™, is an engaging and inspiring research-based 2-way interactive “TV show.” It’s a mix between Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, Reading Rainbow, Soul Train, Science Friday and Live From Lincoln Center for all ages and abilities; no previous experience necessary. It taps the creativity in everyone and makes creative connections between isolated people, and improves physical, intellectual, emotional and social health through dance, music, story, theater, and the latest arts and health research learning. It promotes trust, connection, joy, health and intercultural celebration, and features guest musicians, dancers and storytellers. It’s a great place to meet your family and friends, and make new friends.
Dancing Heart Live™ is a collaboration with arts, social service, healthcare, senior living, community and education organizations. It features Kairos Alive! Teaching Artists webcasting from our Minneapolis studio, and guest artists joining from their home studios.
Kairos Alive! is a 21-year national award-winning Minneapolis non-profit performing arts and health education organization, doing creativity and health webcasting for 4 years. Our mission is to transform lives through dance, music, story, theater, and the latest arts and health research learning. Our vision is to celebrate older adults, and people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds at the center of vital intergenerational creative communities. We seek to inspire inter-generativity, enjoyment, connection and health for all. Our work is trauma-informed, and is recognized for its nuanced intercultural celebration, its ability to serve as a place and practice for community healing, and its ability to support purpose and creative leadership. Six studies are based on Kairos’ work, which results in verifiable physical, social and emotional health benefits, and was featured in the PBS documentary, Arts and the Mind. It is recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, National Center for Creative Aging, the American Public Health Association, and others.
