Hennepin County Veterans Monument Call for Artists

Hennepin County seeks an artist or artist-led team (Artist/Team) to design an artwork dedicated to the veterans of Hennepin County – past, present, and future. Hennepin County is home to 54,750 veterans or almost 15% of Minnesota’s veteran population. Located on the North or South Plaza of the Hennepin County Government Center, this new artwork will honor veterans of all backgrounds with ties to Hennepin County and permanently signify Hennepin County’s commitment to its veteran employees and residents.
This is a two-phase selection process for the artist/artist-led team (Artist/Team).
Phase One: Request for Artist/Team qualifications
Artists/Teams are invited to submit qualifications and address questions related to their interest in the project during this initial phase of the selection process (see details below). Please do not submit a proposed design or artwork during this phase.
Phase Two: Finalists submittal and interview
A selection panel will select up to five Artists/Teams to prepare a submittal and presentation. Artist/Team finalists will receive a series of questions and present their responses during an interview. Each Artist/Team finalist will receive a $1,000 presentation/interview stipend irrespective of team size/number of people involved. One Artist/Team will be selected to deliver the project.
