Healthy December: Self-Care for Creatives

Arts Administrators work hard all year round on programming and organizational needs. Grant reports, board meetings, marketing, stage management, gallery painting, fundraising, event planning, and more take up so much of your mental and physical capacity. MRAC is taking December to ask you to take time for yourselves. Join us Fridays in December to arm yourself with tools to help you end 2017 and start 2018 healthy and ready for even more arts programming and challenges.
Join Licensed Acupuncturist Kim Christensen for an exploration of the self-care and creative practices that help you feel at ease and in-flow during the holiday season and beyond! In this workshop, we will discuss strategies to reduce stress and feelings of anxiety, promote calm, and encourage overall well-being to keep your creative juices flowing and your vibe high. After a brief discussion of the science of stress (and why it matters!), we’ll talk about how acupuncture, acupressure, essential oils, stone medicine, guided meditation and breathwork, and more can help.
After a brief Q&A we’ll end with a guided meditation and breathing exercise. The basics of this exercise will be taught to you, so you can do it on your own whenever you need. You’ll walk away from this workshop with more knowledge about how holistic approaches can support you and some new tools you can use as part of your own self-care.
