Arts Advocacy Day
Tuesday, March 12 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 amNo cost to participate
LOCATION UPDATE: Please note, in effort to ease logistics, we have updated the coffee meet-up location to be at the Minnesota History Center.
Each year Minnesota Citizens for the Arts hosts Arts Advocacy Day at the Capitol to share the message that the arts are critical to our state. MCA hosts a rally at the Minnesota History Center auditorium in the morning, the participants split up into teams with experienced leaders, and go together to legislator offices to educate them about the arts in their communities and ask them to support arts funding.
MRAC is pleased to host a coffee meet-up that morning to make this a more accessible experience and kick-off the day at the Minnesota History Center. Refreshments will be provided from from 7:30-9:00 am.
Whether you are new or returning to Arts Advocacy Day or just want to gather with art folks to get pumped up for the day, join us! This is a free event and all are encouraged to come. Individuals will be grouped in teams to visit their respective legislators. To help prepare for your individualized schedule for the day so that it is ready for you when we arrive at the Minnesota History Center, you will need to sign-up via Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, but also RSVP below so we have enough refreshments.
In preparation for a day of advocacy work, MRAC conducted a workshop on February 22. If you missed this workshop, materials for the workshop can be found here:
