As part of many arts activities funded through MRAC, an ASL interpreter is often offered or engaged, but how much do you know about the language and the Deaf culture?

This class will teach participants the basics of ASL including how to introduce yourself and will provide a short overview of Deaf culture as well as a storytelling experience. Each participant will learn how to tell the ABC story. Attendees will leave knowing the ASL alphabet and with exposure to ASL storytelling and with an appreciation for including those with hearing disabilities in your programming. This is the second session building on skills learned in the October 25 session. You will need to have attended the session in October to participate in this workshop.

The instructors for this session are Terryann Nash and Rebecca Demmings of Diversity Alive!
