Announcing MRAC Grant Programs for FY21

MRAC is pleased to share the grant guidelines for the two new grant programs for this current fiscal year (July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021). There will be three grants available this year:

Flexible Support $15,000 for groups to respond to their needs during this reality of COVID-19. There are three deadlines for this grant program and it is open to new applicants and returning applicants; groups that have current open grants with MRAC are eligible to apply to this new program. The first round deadline is September 8, 2020. Grant guidelines are available for Flexible Support.

Equity Response is a $2,500 grant program open to groups that are led by 50% or more Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) individuals, People with Disabilities (PWD), and/or those who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual/Agender, Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2+). There are eight deadlines for this grant program and eligible groups can receive one of these awards; eligible groups can also receive a Flexible Support grant in this fiscal year. The first round deadline is August 31, 2020. Grant guidelines are available for Equity Response.

Next Step Fund, generously funded by the McKnight Foundation, offers a $5,000 award and is open to individual artists to enhance career advancement through a project to remove a barrier to artistic achievement. This deadline is January 11, 2021; the grant guidelines and the online application will be available six-weeks before the deadline.

The online grant applications for Flexible Support and Equity Response will be active on Monday, August 10 to begin applications for the first deadlines. We look forward to assisting your group put together a strong application in these new streamlined programs that are designed with the goal of helping organizations be flexible and responsive in the current way of working and connecting with communities through the arts.
