MRAC’s mission is to increase access to the arts in 7-county metropolitan area communities by providing information, organizational support, and grants. It is MRAC’s vision that artists, arts organizations, and arts activities thrive; that art is integrated into the fabric and identity of every community; and that public value of the arts is understood, acknowledged, and acted upon by community members, leaders, and policy makers.
For the remainder of our fiscal year (through June 2020) we seek a storyteller who can provide monthly profiles and images that tell the story of our grant dollars in action. Profiles will be shared on the website, newsletter, and on social media platforms for the organization. Topics will be selected in consultation with the MRAC Communications Director and will include stories of our seven grant programs and other activities of the organization. Stories should be captivating and be approximately 750-1000 words and have accompanying images. The goal is to show state arts dollars being used in a variety of communities.
Compensation and Expectations: Budget for this project is $1200 monthly; negotiation is possible. This is a contract position. Travel around the metro area, including to suburban locations, is essential to this project. Travel expenses and any work by subcontractors is included in the flat fee.
Deliverables: One 750-1000 word profile of a MRAC grant recipient group or individual and 3-5 associated images per month from September 2019 through June 2020.
**This is not a film/video project- we are seeking written text and still images.
All of our grant awards are shared on the MRAC website at www.mrac.org and provide a great overview of the types of groups and art projects we fund.
