Qhia Dab Neeg is an exhibition of Hmong artists first presented at the In Progress Qhia Dab Neeg Film Festival in summer of 2017 as a result of the open call for art submissions. The exhibition was curated by Katherina Vang. Qhia Dab Neeg means ‘Storytelling’ and there are many stories represented in these 20 works of art by 13 artists from around the world.
This exhibition is on view in the MRAC Conference Room through February 2018. Visitors may come between 9:00 and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; calling or emailing in advance is recommended to assure that the space is available.
There is an opening reception on Thursday, January 18 from 5- 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to come and meet some of the artists and see the work.
In Progress is a media arts organization located in Saint Paul’s North End neighborhood but their reach and influence extends well beyond. Through a variety of programs including classes, workshops, mentorships, and arts activities they strive to tell the stories of diverse individuals and empower them to share their own life experiences.
