In June 2009, MRAC awarded $250,536 to 36 organizations/projects in the second round of its 2008/2009 Arts Activity Support grants.
This fiscal year’s first round of Arts Activity Support grants will fund projects that will reach approximately 77,000 people. The organizations and projects chosen demonstrate both strong artistic quality and a connection to a community need. The Creative Intersections program is designed to foster cross-sector partnerships among public, private nonprofit, and commercial sectors for enhancing arts and culture in communities. The grant program provides up to $8,000 for projects that will build bridges among community sectors, strengthen the community as a whole through a quality arts development project, and build momentum toward long-term community development goals.

In March, 2009, MRAC awarded $145,060 to 52 organizations/projects in the second round of its 2008/2009 Community Arts grant program. The Organizational Development grant program offers grants of up to $6,000 for projects designed to strengthen the management or administration of small and mid-sized nonprofit arts groups located in the seven-county metropolitan area. An appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature is the principle source of MRAC funds. MRAC also receives a generous grant from the McKnight Foundation; grants with an asterisk include a portion of this funding.

The Creative Intersections program is designed to foster cross-sector partnerships between public, private nonprofit, and commercial sectors for enhancing arts and culture in communities currently under-served by MRAC—specifically, communities in the greater metropolitan area, communities of color, and new immigrant communities. The grant program provides up to $8,000 for projects that will build bridges among community sectors, strengthen the community as a whole through a quality arts development project, and build momentum toward long-term community development goals.

The Creative Intersections program is designed to foster cross-sector partnerships between public, private nonprofit, and commercial sectors for enhancing arts and culture in communities currently under-served by MRAC—specifically, communities in the greater metropolitan area, communities of color, and new immigrant communities. The grant program provides up to $8,000 for projects that will build bridges among community sectors, strengthen the community as a whole through a quality arts development project, and build momentum toward long-term community development goals.
