Program Description
The Arts Learning program provides grants of up to $10,000 for high-quality, age-appropriate arts education for Minnesotans of all ages to develop knowledge, skills, and understanding of the arts. MRAC's goals for the Arts Learning Program are to cultivate creativity and deepen knowledge of and/or through the arts for children, youth and adults by engaging people in extended arts experiences and activities with clearly articulated learning objectives.

Program Requirements
Requirements listed here are intended to give a sense of the program. See program guidelines for a full description of requirements and eligibility rules.

Music in the ParkProject Budget
For every four MRAC dollars requested, you must match or raise one dollar from another source. In-kind donations can not be used to supply the match. Funding sources may include general operating funds, past surpluses, other grants, and earned income or revenue you plan to generate specifically for this project.

Nonprofit status
You must be able to furnish proof of your organization's IRS tax-exempt status or furnish a letter of agreement with your fiscal sponsor and proof of your fiscal sponsor's IRS tax-exempt status.

Eligibility
To ensure eligibility, all applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss proposal ideas with MRAC staff before beginning an MRAC application. All eligibility requirements are fully outlined in the program guidelines. For general eligibility, see the eligibility page.

  • Community education units with arts budgets of any size when the applicant can demonstrate clearly that the project is specifically and primarily intended to serve an under-served community (see definition, page 7).
